Choose panel sizing saw parts by their station

Panel sizing and beam saw systems use different components to support a board, move it, hold it and clear it from the cutting area. This collection includes upper pressure sponges and belts, air-table balls, carrier vacuum parts, a Holzma scraper, grippers and safety curtains in several dimensions. Product names may refer to Holzma, Schelling, Selco, Homag, Scheer or Giben. These labels describe the listing; a manufacturer name does not establish fit across every series and configuration. Grippers and panel-holding components

Grippers are mechanical components associated with holding and moving panels through a cutting sequence. Consider the cross-section, loop length, joint, surface profile, support body and tension arrangement together. Two belts with the same visible width may still differ in groove fit or material. For a sponge, compare the contact face, thickness, cell structure and mounting method described in the listing. Photograph the part in place before removal, including its direction of movement and the unit where it is installed. Excessive marks, slippage or uneven contact can also relate to tension, alignment or system settings, so do not assume that fitting a new component alone will correct every cutting-quality issue.

Carrier vacuum and support arrangements

A carrier vacuum listing may describe an element in the vacuum-based panel-gripping system of a particular machine. Some entries use the general product name “carrier vacuum,” making the image, mounting detail, mating surface and any printed reference especially useful. Port or channel count, base shape, hole spacing, height and position on the carrier can distinguish similar products. Vacuum products named for different brands and systems may look alike while using different connection or sealing arrangements. Before removal, photograph the vacuum line and connection on the carrier. If wiring, hoses or moving parts are involved, isolate the equipment under the site’s maintenance procedure. Record the observed issue—loss of hold, leakage, repeated positioning error or a visible crack—and the step when it happens. This context supports identification without turning a symptom into a diagnosis.

Holzma scraper and surface-contact components

When assessing a part listed as a Holzma scraper, use more than the brand reference. Scraper type, profile, cross-section, operating direction, fastening and installed position can vary even within a catalogue family. Inspect the contact surface and holder in a clean, safe setting, and photograph the removed part from above, from the side and from the back. If the working edge is worn, its dimensions may no longer reflect the original profile. Compare the listing title and image with the reference in the machine’s parts list. A scraper’s role and adjustment should not be assumed to be identical across panel-saw manufacturers. Avoid inferring a specific cutting result, finish quality or maintenance interval when the product details do not state it.

Safety curtain dimensions and protective equipment

Safety curtain listings may carry dimensions such as 200 by 50, 220 by 50, 230 by 30, 270 by 30 or 275 by 45 millimetres. Confirm what each number represents in the product record. For a component in a machine guard or protective system, cutting, shortening or substituting it should never be decided from a similar dimension alone. Mounting points, protected area, optical or electrical properties, the machine control system and applicable safety requirements should be checked by an authorized, qualified team. A listing title is not a substitute for a machine risk assessment or manufacturer instructions. If the curtain’s label, connector and exact location are readable, provide them with the machine nameplate. If visible dimensions are not enough to identify the part, state that before ordering.

Verify model, code and dimensions

Record the machine’s full manufacturer and model, serial number and production year from its plate. Then copy the OEM or supplier code on the part exactly. A name such as “gripper,” “air-table ball” or “upper pressure” may only identify a product family. If the code cannot be read, provide caliper or ruler measurements and say which surfaces were measured. Keep a wide machine photo, close-up of the mounting point, both sides of the removed part and the item number from an exploded drawing together. For grippers, include jaw and mounting dimensions; for balls, table opening and housing diameter; for belts, cross-section, loop and joint; for curtains, model, label and electrical connection. Ask an authorized maintenance person to account for fit tolerances and mounting arrangements when comparing a listing with site measurements.
