Compare sensors and measurement components by application
This collection includes sensors and related parts that produce different signals for position, presence, pressure, temperature or motion. Live items include Contrinex and Omron inductive proximity sensors, Leuze and Omron photoelectric sensors, Festo pressure and cylinder-position sensors, limit-switch actuators, incremental and absolute encoders, read heads, sensor cables, a PID temperature controller and encoder backup batteries. They do not share one operating principle, output or connection standard. When selecting a part, compare more than sensing range or brand: target material, mounting, supply, signal type, connector and controller input all matter. Confirm the full catalogue code from the product label and manufacturer document.
Inductive and photoelectric sensors
Inductive proximity sensors and photoelectric sensors use different physical methods to detect a target. The collection may list Contrinex DW-AS-509-M18-320 and Omron E2B-M12LS04-M1-B1 inductive products, along with optical items such as Leuze HT46C/4P-M12, Omron E3FA-DP23 and E3Z-T86. For an inductive sensor, consider target metal, housing size, sensing distance, mounting and cable or connector. For a photoelectric item, target color, surface, transparency and reflectivity, detection mode, background, distance and optical alignment can matter. These are general selection topics; a specific value is confirmed only by the data sheet for the full product code. A shared M12 body or similar appearance does not establish pinout or PNP/NPN output.
Pressure and cylinder-position sensing
A pressure sensor such as Festo SDE5-D10-FP-Q6E-P-M8 and a cylinder-position sensor such as SMT-8M-A-PS-24V-E-2,5-OE serve different measurement or switching roles. For a pressure product, check range, port, connection, analog or digital output, supply and display option from its code. For a cylinder sensor, confirm the cylinder profile and sensor groove, switching logic, sensing distance, cable end and connector. Two Festo sensors installed on the same machine are not automatically interchangeable. For a fault involving line pressure or cylinder position, find the signal type and scale expected by the controller in the schematic. Record cable direction, label, mounting location and product housing in photos.
Encoders, read heads and backup batteries
The collection may contain incremental and absolute encoders, a height-adjustment encoder, read heads and encoder backup batteries or kits. Do not treat them as one generic “sensor” replacement. For an encoder, check resolution or pulses per revolution, shaft dimensions, output type, connector and mechanical connection. For a read head, verify its match to the scale or encoder track. The listing code must be compatible with the machine control system. Battery codes such as B0630.0530, ER6VC3 or JZSP-BA01-1 can be separate service items in an encoder feedback or backup arrangement. Authorized personnel should review the maker’s instructions for uninterrupted power and reference retention during replacement; an arbitrary battery substitute may affect position data.
Limit-switch actuator, cable and smaller components
Limit-switch actuators such as F9607.1271 and K6330.0008 transfer mechanical movement to a switch. The actuator tip and switch body may be separate products. For a sensor cable such as K6420.0265 or read head K6720.0106, check length, connector count, pin assignment, housing, cable jacket and connection to the measurement system in the product detail. Do not replace a cable only by similar length or color; shielding, pinout and bend radius can depend on the application. Compare the limit actuator’s travel direction and trip point with the machine drawing. If a product such as K6730.0003 proximity sensor or K6720.0003 display module uses a short code, document its label and the device it works with.
PID controller and temperature loop
A product such as 6590/2-2.4-24 PID temperature controller evaluates an input and controls an output; it is different from the measuring sensor itself. Check supply voltage, input type, thermocouple or resistance sensor, relay or SSR output, panel cutout and parameter backup. Record every suffix in the part number and the current device configuration. A similar display does not prove the controller has the same input and output interfaces. If a temperature reading is inconsistent, inspect the sensor, wiring, PID parameters, measurement location, heater and control output separately. Replacement or parameter changes should follow manufacturer instructions and be performed by authorized technical staff. This collection copy does not recommend a process target or temperature setting.
Technical information for matching a listing
Prepare the machine maker and full model, serial number, sensor function, mounting position and tag from the control diagram. Copy the product code exactly, including case, hyphens, periods and suffixes. For an inductive sensor, include target metal, housing and mounting; for a photoelectric item, beam type and target surface; for a pressure sensor, range and port; for an encoder, resolution and shaft; for a cable, pin assignment; and for a PID unit, input and output configuration. Check supply, signal, connector and cable length against the exact data sheet. Include clear photos of the product and mounting location, alarm code and parts drawing if available. Do not infer unverified environmental limits or operating ranges from a collection listing.

A sensor used at a PLC input is not the same product as a PLC module; mounting, electrical and software connections should be verified in manufacturer documents. Include full code, target or process information, supply and output, connector, machine model and quantity in the purchase request. If the sensor function or cross-reference is unclear, request its data sheet before recording an alternative as confirmed. Collections support browsing and product search; they are not calibration, safety-performance or machine-suitability certifications.
Match sensor output to the controller input
A sensor can fit mechanically while providing an electrical signal different from the controller input. Before replacement, read supply range, output type, contact logic, pin labels and cable connection from the old product label. Target metal can affect an inductive sensor’s sensing distance; target color, reflectivity or transparency can help determine the photoelectric arrangement. For a pressure sensor, compare range with the process line and port; for a cylinder sensor, verify profile and switching position. On an encoder change, resolution and reference signal must match the controller; preserving position during battery replacement depends on machine documentation. Record the controller and measurement system alongside the code for a sensor, read head or backup battery.
