Industrial automation and control parts
The Automation and Control collection is organized around PLC, HMI, controller, input/output module, backplane, power connection and related cabinet components. Live products include Allen-Bradley PanelView touchscreen and logic modules, B&R PLC CPUs, backplanes and digital or analog I/O modules, and parts such as a 24 VDC power connector. These product families do not share one role or platform. A PLC module’s slot, firmware and hardware revision, terminal layout and connected machine can all differ. Read the listing title, but do not infer compatibility before comparing the full code, machine project and cabinet diagram. This description helps gather technical identity from the listed product types.
Allen-Bradley PanelView displays and logic modules
Product names such as 2711P-RDT10C, RDT12C, RDT15C and RDT7C identify RDT touchscreen display modules; RP8A, RP8D, RP9A and RP9D refer to logic modules; codes such as 2711P-T10C4D8 or T7C4D8 identify terminal products. These may have different roles in a PanelView system. Separately verify screen size, terminal standard, series, resolution, interface, cable, logic module, firmware and machine application file. A listed display module does not mean the entire operator terminal or control program is being replaced. For a display fault, photograph the rear label, terminal model and connection layout. Search the maker’s datasheet and machine parts catalogue by full product code; do not infer a migration or substitute from the name alone.
B&R controllers, backplanes and modules
B&R examples include PLC CPUs 3CP260.60-1 and 3CP340.60-1, backplanes 3BP150.4 and 3BP151.4, and I/O products such as the 3AI775.6 analog input module or 3DM486.6, 3DO479.6 and 3DO650.6 digital I/O or output modules. Confirm whether a product is analog input, digital input, digital output or relay output in its exact code and B&R documentation. A backplane is a separate component for physical system arrangement and connections; it is not a CPU or I/O replacement. Review CPU, I/O, power, terminals and bus relationships against the system diagram. Gather a front photo, side code label, rear socket, slot number, system serial information and hardware revision. Similar housing or the same B&R name does not establish matching electrical characteristics or PLC project compatibility.
24 VDC power connector and electrical interface
The product name 0TB103.9 24 VDC power connector combines a particular connector reference with a nominal voltage phrase. The title alone does not specify pin arrangement, mechanical keying, polarity, current rating or compatible rack. Compare the complete code on the existing part, mating plug number, terminals and wire gauge against the machine drawing. A connector fitting mechanically does not show that its electrical pinout is correct. Photograph cabinet power, signal and communication connections; authorized electrical staff should isolate energy before replacement. Do not base selection only on “24 VDC”; consult manufacturer documentation for the system’s current and protection requirements.
Fault description and information before a module change
For a PLC or HMI fault, record the screen message, error code, indicator LEDs, time of the event and machine step. Identify the module slot, input or output signal tag or terminal and connected sensor or actuator from the wiring diagram. A symptom at a failed output module may also come from the load, wiring, supply, fuse or program condition. A blank display may involve power, communication, panel, software or the logic module. Diagnostic details help identify the product but do not constitute a remote diagnosis. If replacing a module requires configuration or software restoration, verification and safety checks, those steps should be part of the authorized automation team’s work plan.
Model, serial and revision match
State the machine type, control-system platform, PLC CPU model, HMI terminal model, serial number and cabinet diagram in the purchasing request. Copy the full catalogue number from the product label, including letters, periods, hyphens and suffixes. Check hardware revision, firmware, controller project file, terminal connection and any manufacturer replacement reference. A cabinet may have been modified or converted to another brand; the original machine drawing may not match the field wiring. Compare product-page text and images with the system bill of materials or drawing position. I/O channel type and field-device voltage cannot be inferred from the product family alone. When the code and diagram match, include the supporting document in the purchasing record.

A sensor input module, output module, HMI and drive serve different roles; use in the same machine does not make their interfaces interchangeable. Verify the maker code, technical document, slot, terminal and machine configuration for each product. Changes to controls, PLC program or machine safety functions should be carried out by appropriately qualified personnel. Evidence that a part operates after installation and safe commissioning should come from the facility’s approved maintenance process, not a collection description.
Project dependencies in a PLC or HMI change
Record system application dependencies alongside the module code. An Allen-Bradley PanelView terminal relies on display, logic module, communications and machine-project revision; matching only the visible screen size is not enough. For a B&R CPU or I/O module, the technical team should check slot arrangement, firmware, PLC project backup, terminal definition and communication topology. A backplane or power connector mismatch can prevent another module with similar dimensions from operating. Before removing the old device, maintenance staff should confirm where the program and configuration backup are held and which engineering software and version are in use. After a change, field I/O and machine safety functions need review. A product name in the collection does not prove those commissioning checks have passed.
Review field signals and safety context for a module
For a PLC input or output module, “digital” or “analog” in the title is not enough. Channel count, signal type, common terminal, voltage, current, connector and controller family need confirmation in B&R or machine documentation. For a PanelView terminal, verify the terminal series and its operation with the existing logic module. If a module is linked to a safety function or motion control, only an authorized automation team should perform the machine risk review and required safety tests after replacement. A similar-looking product code does not automatically carry over program slot definitions or the safety chain. Keep project backup, module configuration and test report associated with the same work order but separate from the purchasing line.
