What is listed in the SCM Gabbiani sizing saw collection?

This collection includes an air-table ball, upper pressure belts and an upper pressure sponge, components around panel support and pressure. Belt options are named as 10 by 10 mm and 20 by 10 mm, and a ball may carry an SCM reference. The small number of live listings does not mean the page covers every spare part for your panel saw. Gabbiani series and configurations can differ in table, pressure, carrier and installed options. The SCM name is a catalogue clue associated with the machine family, not a fitment confirmation. Check the exact model, serial number and production period alongside the code, dimensions and mounting location of the existing part. Connection and cross-section matter even for simple-looking items such as a belt or ball.

Air-table ball and machine table

An air-table ball is a contact component that supports panel movement across a table. Locate the SCM reference in the machine parts catalogue and compare outside diameter, housing, flange width, installation depth and projection above the table. The ball should move freely, seat in its housing and align at the correct level, but this description does not specify a particular air-pressure arrangement or shared ball standard. If a panel is scratched, difficult to move or makes unusual noise, inspect the table opening, air supply and surrounding surface cleanliness as well as the ball. Appearance alone does not establish that replacement is required. Provide scaled photos of the top and underside, socket and position on the machine. Comparing nearby openings on the same table can reveal dimensional differences.

10 by 10 mm and 20 by 10 mm pressure belts

The list may include upper pressure belts with cross-sections described as 10 by 10 mm and 20 by 10 mm. In addition to cross-section, confirm loop length, joint, channel size, contact surface and machine tension range. The visible width or thickness can differ from the measurement inside the groove, so state the surfaces used. If the old belt was cut to remove it, its original loop length may not be recoverable from the removed piece. Use the product number, catalogue drawing or a loop measurement while installed. Different Gabbiani configurations may use the same cross-section with another length or pressure unit; do not approve a purchase from the size label alone. Record the belt position, panel travel direction and observed wear in the maintenance file.

Upper pressure sponge and support channel

An upper pressure sponge can have a different section and contact profile from a belt; check thickness, width, shape and attachment in the product detail. An old sponge may have compressed under load, so its thickness after removal may not preserve the original value. A sound neighboring part, spare-parts drawing or maker code may provide a better measurement reference. The sponge channel and support surface width, mounting method and relation to the moving pressure mechanism matter. An uneven mark, slipping panel or indentation may not be caused by the sponge alone; an authorized technician should also review pressure height, panel tolerance, belt and system adjustment. Do not use a product from another machine family solely because it looks similar. Record the measurements and exact machine position together.

Gabbiani model and variants

Copy the full model name, including suffixes, serial number and production year from the machine plate. Gabbiani saws can have different working widths, table layouts and loading arrangements; the series name alone may not identify the parts list. Find the applicable pressure unit or air-table group in the manufacturer’s spare-parts catalogue. Record the drawing position, part number, serial range and any revision note. Note a table, ball socket, belt tensioner or other component that was changed or adapted later. Match the code on the replacement with the catalogue reference. If there is no readable code, use a dimension sheet and mounting photo. Do not use the “SCM” reference in a product title in place of a model and serial check.

Measurements and purchasing request

Along with the product name, include its code, full machine model and serial number, production year, assembly group and required quantity in a quote or purchase request. For a ball, state outside diameter, housing, flange and socket depth; for a belt, cross-section, loop, joint and channel; for a sponge, width, thickness, profile and support measurement. Photograph the product label and mounting position separately. Use millimetres and state which direction each value describes. Mark a measurement taken from a worn part. If multiple items of the same type appear in different positions, list each position separately. If the product catalogue does not match the machine drawing, resolve the difference before approving purchase; an incorrectly sized belt or ball may physically fit but fail to provide the intended contact or movement.

System symptoms and safe maintenance

Describe difficulty moving a panel across the table, uneven pressure marks or a belt that does not stay in position with the material and program where it occurred. A ball, belt and sponge are not interchangeable, and one symptom does not prove which part has failed. Review the table surface, air system, tension, pressure height, support channel and panel properties under the machine instructions. Maintenance staff should retain old and new codes, measurements and inspection conditions in the work order. Authorized personnel should set energy isolation, safe stopping of moving elements and test-area requirements. Collection copy is not a machine adjustment guide or safe operating procedure.

Seeing the same 10 by 10 or 20 by 10 belt size or air-table ball name does not prove it fits an SCM Gabbiani; cross-section, loop, socket and machine revision still need checking. Compare the product detail with the catalogue drawing and flag any unverified point in the request. Keeping product types under the correct family in the maintenance record helps purchasing and service teams follow replacements.
